Gergeti Glacier, Stepantsminda

Quite a tough climb, but so worth it. Being able to walk the glacier is very cool! The view is nice and once you get up far enough, the snow is very cool and white! Make sure to ascend slowly, the height is at 3500, can cause headaches and nausea. Take a quick stop at the altihut and continue at your own pace :).

Dangerous, but I was lucky having a a certified glacier guide. We roped up and made a loop back to base camp from summiting Kazbek. We did this to avoid the rockfall on the normal route back. I slipped a leg down a covered crevice, safety of roping up is a must! But it was beautiful and I loved the walk.
