Create an itinerary including Abbey of Bec-Hellouin
Abbey of Bec-Hellouin was once the most influential abbeys in the Anglo-Norman kingdom. When you visit, you’ll find yourself on the banks of a peaceful river, where you can explore some of the finest ecclesiastical architecture of the 17th and 18th century. On the tour, you will experience the cloister, the 15th century bell tower of Saint-Nicolas, the monastic quarters, the abbey church, and a display of crafts and artifacts made by the monks.

Like all abbeys, this site maintained annals of the house, but uniquely its first abbots also received individual biographies, brought together by the monk of Bec, Milo Crispin. • Visited the abbey several times in the past years. It is a beautiful place. Last time (in 2018) we got a tour in the abbey church by one of the monks. It was very interesting. The museum shop has moved in another building. The monks sell self-manufactured tableware, religious books and food. The buildings are in good shape. The bell tower Saint-Nicolas is impressive. It's definitely worth it to participate in a guided tour. Have to speak French though.
  • The abbey is situated in a small but very beautiful village. The place is very quiet but it’s definitely must visit place when travelling in the area.
