Bethel Kale Hiwot Church, Asmara

Visit Bethel Kale Hiwot Church, one of the more recently built religious buildings in the country, having been constructed in the mid-20th century. It’s a place of worship for those belonging to the Kale Hiwot denomination of the evangelical church, started in Ethiopia in the 1920s. The church gained popularity a decade later, during the Italian occupation. Here you can see the simple and modest building, with just a few circular window decorations and a combination of red brick and concrete walls.
