Visit Ta Som, a small 12th century-temple in the ancient city of Angkor. Nestled in a wooded area, the temple dates back to the rule of the Khmer king Jayavarman VII. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the temple, surrounded by a shady grove, and admire its stone ruins, adorned with intricate carvings and figurines. Nature has blended with the man-made structures of this ancient site, with one of the gopuram, or entrance walls, completely overgrown by a sacred fig tree, making for a great photo opportunity. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Siem Reap trip simple and quick.

  • One of the highlights... very quiet and away from the main area, this was a wonderful visit, with a beautiful tree growing over the building, only revealed by walking all the way through to the end.

  • A small temple, but one that shows how some amazing reconstruction work has been done by the projects responsible. It makes me feel grateful that a visitor such as I can see the works of a historic...

  • Really great stopover during your tour. The building is combined with nature like a couple of others in the area. Very beautiful as well as intricate sculpture and very nice nature area in between. Good place to relax and explore
  • A very intimate temple deep in the jungle. The faces look like the ones in Bayon carved by the same king Jayavarman VII. The temple is kind of like Bayon and Ta Prohm but smaller, more narrow and less visited. It’s like stepping back in time, but also it’s like seeing how nature is reclaiming the ruins of this once great empire. This temple is usually on a Grand Circuit tour.
