Discover one of the largest dinosaur halls in the world at Museum of Natural Sciences, an attraction that is part museum and part research center. Don't miss the 30 completely assembled Iguanodon skeletons that seem to be stalking the dinosaur hall. These fierce beasts were discovered in the 19th century not far from the museum. A Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton is another favorite that sends chills up your spine, but the nearby herbivores, such as the Stegosaurus, don't seem too rattled. The permanent exhibits continue the local theme with dinosaur discoveries, evolution, insects, shells, minerals, and animal life in the city. Temporary exhibits also move through the museum and many of these are combined with educational programs. The museum is included in the Brussels City Card, which gives you free access to 30 city museums. However, a single ticket is also very affordable. • Had such a great time here! It was so cheap for student entry (€5) and we spent ages in the museum - probably around 2 hours, and we even skipped a few bits and could’ve easily spent longer there. It was far bigger than we expected it to be, and there was loads of interactive stuff. There was a wide range of stuff to look at from the evolution of humans to taxidermy animals (creepy but cool). Would definitely recommend this to anyone of any age range!
  • It's actually 3 museums in 1 and you can choose which ones to visit depending on how much time you have available, it takes a while to go through everything though (up to 3 hours), so be prepared. Very interesting exhibits and nice gift shop. Great place for kids but definitely too big to do in just one visit with a small one. It gets crowded in the afternoon. Definitely a must visit while in Brussels.
