Explore the only accesible sea cave on Barbados, Animal Flower Cave, named after the sea anemones that inhabit its pools. Discovered in 1780 by English explorers who were sailing in the area, the cave features a coral floor that's more than 400,000 years old. Descend the coral steps, built in 1912, that lead down through the cave's roof. From there you may admire the cave's rock formations that differ in color due to oxidation. View the vibrant sea anemone, swim in the deep pool in the chamber, or take in ocean views from the mouth of the cave. • We visited here on our first trip in 2018 and knew we needed to come back. The views from inside the cave are beautiful and enjoyed a brief swim in the pool. Guide was also very good.

  • We did a lot of great activities while on the island but I have to admit that this little unassuming stop was my favorite. It had been on my list from our past visit but we hadn’t made it, I’m so...

  • What an amazing experience. While I was disappointed that the lower area wasn't open with the anemones, the experience of being in the caves close to the Atlantic waves was amazing. Seeing the coral rock structures was fascinating and then all this was topped off by swimming in the graduating deep pool. Just as I thought it couldn't get any better ... a fabulous restaurant with great menu, friendly staff and amazing food on top of a cliff ! A recommended visit to anyone visiting the island.
