Explore the world of music at Haus der Musik Wien--an interactive discovery museum in the heart of Vienna's first district. Awarded with the Austrian Museum Prize for its innovative design, the museum occupies the former palace of Archduke Charles. Opened in 2000, this citadel of music was also the residence of Otto Nicolai, the composer of the opera "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and founder of the Vienna Philharmonic. Engage in a range of high-tech, interactive, and multimedia presentations. See how the approach to music has changed from the earliest human use of instruments to the music of the present day. This museum is full of surprises! There are many interactive games that can help you understand from basic sound to beautiful music. Both adults and kids can have fun at this museum! Just don’t forget to check your time, because it is so fun, so that it’s easy to loose track of time. Highly recommend.

We came there after 8 pm (from this hour it costs 8 euro). Museum is interactive, so it is really interesting - both for adults and kids. You can learn not only about history of music and classical music artist, but also it shows you some interesting facts about sound waves, hearing etc. I would recommend visiting this place.
