Go back in time at Altstadt von Innsbruck to discover how numerous Habsburg rulers bestowed imperial splendor on the town. Start from the riverside and walk through small alleys alongside colorful old houses. See some of the architectural gems from the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical periods, such as the Golden Roof and the Cathedral of St. James. Taste the local beer or the authentic Tyrolean food at one of the many restaurants with a view of Alps. Stroll through the Hofgarten, a park located on the edge of the Old Town. Each building is a work of art- they are painted and are so pretty- and the Goldenes Dachl is right there. NIce to sit at a cafe and take it all in- great people-watching and pretty shops and cafes.

It’s a small Altstadt but pretty nice nonetheless. Some colour though not much - the row of colourful houses seen in many pictures is actually across the river.

Plenty to see and enjoy. Walk around the old town, stop by a cafe or restaurant. Watch out when you are crossing the roads.

Good place to go with great views and many restaurants, shops and other businesses close by. Though Innsbruck is not a large city, it has great views and is rich in history. There are fairly good parking options available in the vicinity, however their Altstadt parking is almost always filled to the brim. A better choice might be to park in Sillpark and simply walk there. Otherwise it's definitely worth visiting.
