Cecil Rhode's Burial Place, Matobo National Park - The Matopos

Landmark · Tourist Spot
The final resting place of one of the "architects of apartheid," Cecil Rhode's Burial Place sits on a hilltop chosen and named the "world's view" by Rhodes himself. During the past few years, the grave has been a subject of controversy, just as the man himself was at the time of his death. Bring along a guide to learn more about the British imperialist who came to Africa to improve his health, became the head of the world's largest diamond company, and had a country named after him. The site features several simple stone graves covered with brass plates and a small memorial that features some intriguing reliefs.
