Modern yet historic, Málaga is a lively city famous for being the birthplace of Pablo Picasso.
On the 16th (Mon), delve into the distant past at Teatro Romano and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica of Santa Maria de la Victoria. Here are some ideas for day two: enjoy the sand and surf at Playa El Palo, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, explore the galleries of Alcazaba, admire the masterpieces at Museo de Malaga, then steep yourself in history at Malaga Cathedral, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Iglesia de Los Martires.

Istanbul, Turkey to Malaga is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone difference moving from Eastern European Time (EET) to Central European Time (CET) is minus 2 hours. When traveling from Istanbul in September, plan for a bit warmer days in Malaga, with highs around 34°C, while nights are a bit cooler with lows around 22°C.
