Visit Piazza San Marco and Doge's Palace for their historical value. Shop till you drop at The Merchant of Venice - San Fantin and I Tre Mercanti. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Venice: Padua (Basilica of St. Anthony & Scrovegni Chapel).
