As the country's biggest port and one of the busiest in all of Europe, Hamburg has a well-deserved reputation as Germany's Gateway to the World.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Wildpark Schwarze Berge and Museumsschiff Cap San Diego. Get in touch with nature at Wildpark Lueneburger Heide and 28Grad Strandbad Wedel. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Hamburg: Schiffsbegrussungsanlage Willkomm-Hoft (in Wedel) and Barfusspark Luneburger Heide (in Egestorf). An old imperial city, Rothenburg is the main tourist stop on the scenic Romantic Road of Bavaria.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): steep yourself in history at Spital Bastion, contemplate the long history of Siebers Tower, then see the interesting displays at Historiengewölbe mit Staatsverlies - Museum zur Stadtgeschichte in Rothenburg o.d.T., then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Wolfgang's Church, and finally make a trip to Klingentor.
