Barcelona
— 36 nights

Jewel of the Mediterranean
Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.Get some cultural insight at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Carrer del Mirador del Palau Nacional and El Born. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Barcelona: Tarragona (Anfiteatro de Tarragona, Catedral Basilica Metropolitana Primada de Tarragona, &more), Lloret de Mar (Fenals Beach, Jardines de Santa Clotilde, &more) and Salou (Illuminated Fountain, Llevant Beach, &more). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 8th (Sat) at Aquopolis Costa Dorada. There's much more to do: walk around Parc Guell, pause for some serene contemplation at Templo del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, get curious at CosmoCaixa Barcelona, and pick up some local products at La Boqueria.
For photos, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Barcelona visit site.
If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Barcelona International Airport, Girona Airport and Reus Air Base. Expect a daytime high around 79°F in September, and nighttime lows around 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) so you can travel back home.
