Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Change things up with these side-trips from Porto: Coimbra (Old Cathedral of Coimbra (Se Velha de Coimbra), Universidade de Coimbra Alta & Sofia, & more), Santuario de Santa Luzia (in Viana do Castelo) and Bom Jesus do Monte (in Braga). Dedicate the 24th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 6th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I, explore the world behind art at Museu Serralves, don't miss a visit to Estadio do Dragao, and take in panoramic vistas at Clerigos Tower.

Plan a trip to Porto easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

If you are flying in from Ukraine, the closest major airport is Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport. Expect a daytime high around 27°C in September, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
