Paraguay's capital and economic center, Asuncion ranks among the youngest cities on the continent, with more than half of its residents under 30 years of age.
Iglesia San Buenaventura de Yaguaron and Iglesia Virgen de la Candelaria will appeal to history buffs. Do your shopping at Fuente Shopping de Salemma and Shopping del Sol. Get out of town with these interesting Asuncion side-trips: Caacupe (Catedral Virgen de Caacupe & Tupasy Ycua), Vivant (in Lambare) and Iglesia Natividad de Maria (in Guarambare).
