In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Get some cultural insight at Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore and Monumental Cemetery. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Villa del Balbianello and Cathedral of Como (Duomo). Get out of town with these interesting Milan side-trips: Villa Carlotta (in Tremezzina), Parco Faunistico Le Cornelle (in Valbrembo) and Bergamo (La Citta Alta & Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore).
