Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Get some historical perspective at Nymphenburg Palace and Schloss Hohenschwangau. Appreciate the collections at BMW Welt and Deutsches Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Pilgrimage Church of Wies (in Steingaden), Schloss Neuschwanstein (in Schwangau) and Schloss Linderhof (in Ettal).
