In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to La Citta Alta and Monumental Cemetery. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Duomo di Milano and Castello Sforzesco. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Milan: Golf Colline del Gavi (in Alessandria), Bellagio (Azalea - Silk of Como & Profumeria Bellagio) and Le Serenelle (in Luino). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, kick back and relax at Melissa Beach, and raise your glass at Al Puunt-Snack Beach Bar.

To see photos, traveler tips, more things to do, and tourist information, read our Milan trip site.

Sydney, Australia to Milan is an approximately 26- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight, bus, and train. Venice
Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Piazza San Marco and Basilica di San Marco. Doge's Palace and San Marco 801 will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Blue Moon in Lido di Venezia (about 1h 05 min away). There's much more to do: make a trip to Dorsoduro, visit Cannaregio, enjoy the sand and surf at Bagni Alberoni, and stop by Peterpan Masks.
