Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Step out of the city life by going to Grotte di Pietrasecca and Faggeta del Monte Cimino. Explore hidden gems such as Elena Kihlman Designer and Riva di Polline. There's still lots to do: explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill.

Getting from Paris to Rome by combination of train and flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. Traveling from Paris in February, expect nights in Rome to be about the same, around 4°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 16°C. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at La Fabbrica delle Candele and Siena Tartufi. Take a break from the city and head to Chianti Cashmere Goat Farm and Podere Campriano.
