The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.
On the 5th (Fri), walk around Sami Abdulrahman Park, steep yourself in history at Erbil Citadel, and then walk around Shanadar Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 6th (Sat): look for gifts at Bazaar, then buy something for everyone on your list at Family Mall, and then see the interesting displays at Kurdish Textile Museum.
