Tehran, the capital and one of the largest cities in the Middle East, sits in the foothills of a mountain range and stretches out for miles.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Thu): get engrossed in the history at Golestan Palace, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Nicholas Church, enjoy breathtaking views from Milad Tower, then take in panoramic vistas at Azadi Tower, and finally snap pictures at Tabiat Bridge. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: enjoy some diversion at Tochal Complex, then wander the streets of Darband, and then steep yourself in history at Niavaran Historical Cultural Complex.

Shiraz to Tehran is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, taxi, and bus. Traveling from Shiraz in August, Tehran is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) early enough to travel to Paris.
