Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Bar A Parodia. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Castelo de S. Jorge and Avenida da Liberdade. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Sun): take a stroll through Rua Santa Catarina, take a stroll around Palacio da Bolsa, then take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I, and finally explore the activities along Douro River. On the 29th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pick up some local products at Mercado do Bolhao, then learn about winemaking at Taylor's Port, and then kick back and relax at Praia da Luz.

Traveling by car from Sintra to Porto takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or fly. Traveling from Sintra in May, expect nights in Porto to be about the same, around 52°F, while days are little chillier, around 68°F. On the 30th (Tue), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
