Nearly destroyed by war during the 1990s, the riverside city of Sarajevo now serves as one of the region's major educational, cultural, and commercial hubs.
On the 2nd (Mon), steep yourself in history at Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, then admire the masterpieces at Galerija 11/07/95, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Katedrala Sarajevo. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get engrossed in the history at Museum Of Crimes Against Humanity And Genocide 1992-1995, steep yourself in history at Bascarsija, then steep yourself in history at Sebilj Brunnen (Fountain), and finally get engrossed in the history at War Childhood Museum.

Perched on the edge of a fjord-like bay rimmed by rugged mountains, Kotor grew around a medieval settlement purposely built like a maze.
Kick off your visit on the 4th (Wed): take a leisurely stroll along Porto Montenegro, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Nikola Church, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Nikola Church, then pause for some serene contemplation at R.K.C. Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Walls of Dubrovnik and Cavtat Cemetery. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to City Harbor and War Photo Limited. When in Dubrovnik, make a side trip to see Cavtat Seaside Promenade in Cavtat, approximately 32 minutes away. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Fort Lovrijenac, get engrossed in the history at Franciscan Monastery, head off the coast to Island of Lokrum, and take a stroll through Old Town.
