Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Step out of the city life by going to Fenals Beach and Lloret Beach. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ciutat Vella and Vila Vella (Old Town). Change things up with a short trip to Girona Cathedral (Catedral) in Girona (about 1h 15 min away). There's much more to do: stroll around Parc Guell, explore the world behind art at Museu Picasso, admire the striking features of Casa Batllo, and wander the streets of El Barri Gòtic.

Sitges is a town about 35 kilometres southwest of Barcelona, in Catalonia, renowned worldwide for its Film Festival and Carnival. Get outdoors at Capellans Beach and Llarga Beach. Get some cultural insight at Anfiteatro de Tarragona and Reial Monestir De Santes Creus. Change things up with these side-trips from Sitges: Muralla romana de Tarragona (in Tarragona), Gaudi Centre Reus (in Reus) and Ermita Mare de Deu de la Roca (in Montroig). There's more to do: stroll through Playa Balmins and pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla.
