Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Escape the urban bustle at Playa de La Barceloneta and Scuba & Snorkeling. Visit Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and El Barri Gòtic for their historical value. There's still lots to do: admire the landmark architecture of Casa Batllo, walk around Parc Guell, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santuari de la Mare de Deu Del Carme Barcelona, and contemplate the long history of Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Barcelona International Airport, Girona Airport and Reus Air Base. Best known as a fortified town, Carcassonne is a walled city that provided the inspiration for the castle in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" and the location for many scenes in Kevin Costner's movie "Robin Hood." For a daily dose of excitement, medieval jousting tournaments are held twice per day between the two walls--while this may sound like a typical touristy show, it's actually an entertaining display of combative competition and horsemanship.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Mon): contemplate the long history of La cité médiévale, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise Saint-Nazaire, then take an in-depth tour of Musee De L'ecole, and finally take a stroll through Cité de Carcassonne.

You can take a train from Barcelona to Carcassonne in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Start off your visit on the 16th (Tue): take in the views from Pont du Gard, don't miss a visit to Palais des Papes, and then take in the views from Pont d'Avignon.
