Let the collections at Zaanse Schans and Rijksmuseum capture your imagination. Get a sense of the local culture at Begijnhof and The Jordaan. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Amsterdam: Vrouwenpolder Beach (in Veere), Nationaal Park Weerribben-Wieden (in Sint Jansklooster) and Zandvoort aan Zee (in Zandvoort). Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
