The Amsterdam flower market was a short walking distance from our hotel, Banks Mansion. I was a little disappointed at the absence of actual flowers, as it appeared mostly bulbs and other unrelated..... more »
Highly recommend. Many souvenir shops, beautiful flower and bulbs, cheese and chocolate shops. Be sure to get some macarons by Dutch Homemade. Enjoyable area to spend and hour or two exploring. more »
I loved the market, lots of seeds for any kind of flowers and plants, just perfect for someone who's into gardening! Of course also a good place to get all the touristy stuff. Our guide warned us though that the prices for all the cafes would be much higher here than in normal non-touristy places and recommended us to search for cafes a bit away from it.
It’s a typical tourist trap but still is a fun place to walk around. It’s puzzling why this place is called the ‘floating’ market because it is not the same thing as a floating market as in Bangkok, Thailand. There are lots of vendors selling prepackaged bulbs, silk flowers and souvenirs to take home for your loved ones.
