Admire the white marble walls and columns, high decorative gables, and red-stepped roofs of Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram, a Buddhist temple representative of Bankok's ornate style and renowned for its beauty. Experience monks praying and chanting, wander through a cloister lined with 52 images of Buddha, and enjoy some quite reflection in the tranquil gardens, through which a small canal runs. Built in 1899 at the request of King Chulalongkorn, the name translates as "the temple of the fifth King" located nearby Dusit Palace.     The Marble Temple is a lovely temple and has amazing surrounding grounds which are well maintained. There is a lot to appreciate if you as into architecture, history and of course religion. We went.....  more »

    Beautiful and different from other temples, as it was made from Italian marble. Entrance fee is 50 Baht so not expensive. Be aware of the dress code and leave your shoes at the entrance. If you only have time to visit 5 temples in Bangkok, surely put this one on your list. Not as busy as some of the others, so more peaceful.
