We went to Retiro Park for some down time and a relaxing stroll but you can easily spend a couple of hours there. It’s enormous, with 15,000+ trees, sculptures, fountains, lakes and galleries. Even... more »
The large Retiro Park, formerly the royal hunting grounds, provided a welcome respite from the bustling city streets. One can easily spend a day here. more »
A magnificent park in Madrid with great energy! There are a lot to see in there like the lake and the crystal palace! But it's working hours is 10:00 to 22:00 (Apr-Sept) and 10:00 to 18:00 in (Oct - Mar) If you go to Madrid, you should definitely visit this amazing park! I should confess that the nights of Madrid are more vibrant than most European cities. Even at 12 am, there are a lot of people on the streets who are cheerful, chatting and having fun energetically! So don't miss visiting this amazing park and for sure you can take amazing photos here! There is a nice lake inside the park as well.
One of our missions in Madrid was to find the Crystal Palace. It is located in El Retiro Park. We visited during winter time. Although well maintained, there were not a lot of flowers in bloom. The main entrance looked green an manicured. We saw 3 restaurants and close to the restaurants is a restroom. I am sure one can spend a lot of time in this park, but we were in a hurry and left after seeing the Crystal Palace Definitely an excellent spot to do your morning running, biking and strole with small children. One also does not hear any noises from the city.
