Experience the most important pilgrimage site on Mallorca, Santuari de Lluc. Founded in the 13th century after a Moorish shepherd found a statue of the Virgin Mary on the site, this monastery offers a place of tranquility, spirituality, artistic heritage, and natural beauty. Wander around the grounds to appreciate the view of the mountains and the medieval monastic architecture. Behind the monastery buildings, there's a botanical garden trail with notes on preserving the environment of the Mallorcan mountain region. Inside the museum you will find works of art, ancient pottery and ceramics, furniture, and other artifacts. Enter the ornately decorated church and you may be able to hear the boys’ choir, Els Blauets, which was founded in 1531 and holds concerts regularly--their album is available in the gift shop. There are several places to eat, as well as guest accommodations and campsites. • It is a OK place to visit if you pass it on the road to Sa Calobra but not more than that. You can visit bits of the monastery and there are botanical gardens but I thought they were not that...  more »
  • Various walks for all abilities in a tranquil setting. Plenty of cafes too. A wonderful place to spend the day “Lluc is nature’s open book which invites us to stop and read it’s pages”  more »

  • Very nice cathedral in the middle of Mallorca. The road leading to the spot is one of the most beautiful I've ever been driven. The cathedral itself is a nice place for all tourists.
  • We stayed in the place for 3 nights in a small apartment for 3. The place is fantastic, quite, fresh and culturally exciting with animals around and a lot of vegetation. From here you can visit many things and beaches. As an architect though I say that the authenticity of the place in the renovation works has been partly lost. The minimarket Is very scarce, but on the opposite there is a wonderful pool closed to a small botanic garden that may be better maintained. Recommend
