Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Andalucia / Province of Cordoba / Cordoba / Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos
Experience the grandeur of Spanish royalty and history at Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. Once the primary residence of the Catholic Monarchs as well as the headquarters of the Spanish Inquisition, the palace centers on the famous Courtyard of the Mariscos, featuring two high towers and an impressive collection of early Roman art. Walk through the tranquil gardens and courtyards that line the Guadalquivir River or visit the Inquisition tower, where a series of Roman mosaics and a sarcophagus are displayed. Climb the two high towers for a panoramic view of the city of Córdoba and the surrounding palace gardens. Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos reviews
Was okay for a visit if you’re in town. Getting in is a bit of a fiasco. Sign up online in the queue - passport details and a Spanish phone number required (or made up). Then pay at the desk, cards.... more »
The Alcazar was one of the highlights of our trip to Cordoba - it's stunning. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of information on-site - no panels telling us more about the beautiful plants... more »
Arrived early to get tickets couldn't buy them at kiosk, you had to buy them online, couldn't do that so didn't get in to see the gardens, very disappointed
Substantive building with minimalist display. But the gardens are to die for. I suspect they may be more spectacular in Spring/early Summer.
