A dramatic backdrop to a small coastal town, Mt Tapyas serves as a popular viewpoint and offers sweeping panoramas over the surrounding islands. Follow the signs from town and begin the trek up the marked pathways, which feature paved stairways and trails. Climb the approximately 700 steps to the top and you'll find the mountain's summit accented by a giant metal cross. From there, you' can enjoy unobstructed views of the island, the bay, and the rugged coastline, dense with jungle vegetation. • It is a lovely place. The front part is ocean view and the back is mountain view. The stair aint fun but there goes another leg day for you. Once you reach the top, there is a huge cross.

  • Perfect spot for the awesome sunset. Bring water and extra shirt. You'll get really sweaty when you get to the top.

  • Nice circular walk. I approached from the north BUT... where the footpath begins they have made a quarry. So you have to climb up the back wall of the quarry to get to the path. I'm 60yo and managed it, but in some places on all fours. Actually the nicest part of the walk is from the north up to the top. Once clear of the quarry the path is very clear.
  • Nice to take a walk to the bottom of the mountain and then climb the stairs up. It’s supposed to be 721 steps and although it sounds like a lot, one should be able to make it with a few stops in between. The view along the way is very motivating to push you to go forward.
