  • Most sacred art museums are so much liturgical gowns and monstrances. This museum is almost exclusively spectacularly carved Santos and other statues. The four room collection is truly amazing...  more »
  • Not an easy museum to find, which is a bit surprising as Asuncion as it is a simple block/grid system of avenues and boulevards. Taxi driver had never heard of it, and couldn't find it yet there it.....  more »
  • One of the best museums in Asunción. Sacred art is the biggest artistic treasure Paraguay produced during its colonial period. Housed in a beautifully restored italian style villa in a quiet downtown corner. The Museo de Arte sacro exhibits remarkable pieces of art, mostly made by the Guaraní indigenous in the Jesuit Reductions that flourished in the XVII century.
