Hike up to Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia, a vantage point dominated by a colossal statue of the Christ of Mercy. Located on a hill overlooking the city of San Juan del Sur, the statue depicts Jesus with an index finger pointed towards the south. Drive up the hill to the parking lot and climb up the stairs, or brave the entire ascent on foot to reach the imposing monument.     SJDS's single most visited attraction. And a must-do. Our B&B, Villa Arcadia, is on the hill below the statue. Let me give a few pointers. Taxis from town are $10 or from the Port $20. Taxi prices.....  more »

    Had been to San Juan del Sur before and could see the Cristo down from the town but had never taken the time to get up there. We finally made it! After a ten minute drive from the center of town...  more »

    Great view of San Juan del Sur and an excellent spot to watch the sunset. It’s just a short walk from the town but the paved road up is fairly steep. It’s open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, although you can stay later and costs $2 for tourist and $1 for locals. Well worth a visit.
