Despite being the smaller of two volcanoes that make up the island of Ometepe, Volcan Maderas presents a challenging yet rewarding trek. You will need a guide to climb the volcano, no matter what your fitness level, as there are a confusing number of paths at the top. Along the way, the trail can turn muddy even during the dry season, so wear sturdy hiking shoes. Experience one of the few cloud forests, a place where rich plant and wildlife flourish in high levels of humidity. This volcano is a very very beautiful natural attractive, i really loved to hike, the views, birds, monkeys, wildflowers, this is one hundred percent recommended, i recommend to hire a guide service, i went about Holy week, it's a good date to visit, but the transport to the island is very full. I spend like 5 hours for the ticket. However do not miss this adventure.
