  • We took a tour which was very informative. Our driver was always talking about the history of the town and places that we should visit.  more »
  • Lots of colorful things to see (buy) and specialities to taste in a nice building, but at a price. Some reviewers get confused because of the picture with the horse carriage. It has nothing to do...  more »
  • "Small Prices, Great Treasures.... and not just!!!" This store is unique in its kind. At first it seems that you are entering an art gallery (for the large paintings on the walls and the way to present the products exhibited), then you realize that it is a shop that offers much more than simple memories. In fact, everything is created for the visitor to live a unique experience: the decoration, paintings and the products themselves, represent a historical and cultural journey of Nicaragua that goes from prehistoric to colonial times, through the pre-Columbian era! Mammoth, witness of prehistory, indigenous chiefs (Caciques) and Feathered Snake (Quetzalcoatl) of the pre-Columbian era, Pirates, Galleons, Chests with treasures, ancient maps of the colonial era and more details.... appear both in paintings and in a very wide number of products (hand-painted ceramics, hammocks, old-style maps, T-shirts with various images of prehistoric animals and/or Nicaraguan fauna, objects carved in wood, chocolates, Jams, cigars (very recognized Nicaraguan cigars) and the widest selection of gourmet coffees, make this shop a really spice place worth visiting (even without buying anything). The very friendly staff explains (if you want) the meaning of the paintings and also invite you to tour the rest of the Palace (neo classic with a view of the cathedral and the very nice park) for free! Ah I almost forgot.... all edible products (Chile, coffee, chocolate, liquor, jams... and something else I don't remember) can be tasted without any commitment!!! I honestly have traveled on different continents of the world and something like this doesn't look so often.... maybe you just don't see it!
