Stop by the entrance to the old town and appreciate Sea Gate, a monument to the city's rich history. Built in the 16th century under Venetian rule, the gate combines Renaissance and Baroque elements. Take notice of Venice's symbol, the winged lion of St. Mark, adorning the front, as well as the plaque that carries the date of the city's liberation from Axis powers. Take a break on a nearby bench and observe the crowds entering and leaving the old town. • Lovely old historic town situated between the mountain and the sea. Was very busy (august 2018) when I visited. The town was clean and the people were friendly. I didn't walk the old wall (it was too hot) but the view overlooking the old town must be amazing 😀
  • This will usually be the entrance point to the Old town of Kotor as the name suggests it is the gate facing the marina where the cruise ships berth and has a tourist information point right beside it which gives out free maps , the gate itself is embedded in the massive city walls and is wide enough for a cart of goods from the trading ships of yore.
