Admire medieval stonemasonry at Chiesa di San Giorgio, overlooking Lake Como. The church features three naves, placed on cylindrical pillars and sharp arches. Built between 1250 and 1300, the stone structure includes a large rose window above the massive entrance doors. A tall rectangular bell tower with a clock was added in 1653. A large wooden crucifix hovers above the main altar under magnificent vaulted ceilings, while the floor is covered with black marble. • Simple yet beautiful church in the city centre. You can rest here for a short reflection or meditation specially in summer months when it is hot outside. It is a worth visit!  more »
  • The church has a distinctive tall tower, in a beautiful square on the bottom of the hill. Not to miss it.  more »
