  • Interesting Romanesque building with beautiful façade enriched by human figures and zoomorphic. It is not valued as it deserves, because it is a little suffocated between the surrounding buildings

  • The Church of St. James is perhaps the most important one that has trani. In the room below the church there is the tomb of St. Nicholas Pellegrino which is dedicated to the beautiful cathedral. But this church was the first cathedral. Few know it and San Nicolino (to differentiate it from the Bishop of Mira Patron of Bari) rests forgotten by the most. This church has been opened when several associations have assumed the burden (free of charge). If you see the state in which there is the tomb: surrounded by a curb of concrete and with the sacred image that for dust and difficult to see. I took a picture. I do not pretend to understand what the agency is doing for the safeguard of this site (to date if intervened did not have any valuable results). I hope that His Excellency, Archbishop, wants to take a walk (not far from the Archbishop's Palace) and arrange work to make this place of worship decent. For the money does not have to worry: the Tranesi with their offerings contributed to the construction of the cathedral and they will not pull back to give a worthy dwelling to their patron. By the way Saint Nicholas Pellegrino was made holy by popular acclamation and the Bishop of the time wanted and had to listen to the people. I hope it all repeats. It is not this time to appoint a saint but to make some restorations. I wonder if a procession can make it clear to the Tranesi where their saint rests. Thank you. I would not like San Nicolino to come in a dream and say. "No many conferences but renovation works". This church cannot be transformed into a restaurant and not because it is unhealthy.
