The fifth-largest cathedral in the world, Duomo di Milano is a marvel of Gothic architecture. Climb up to the roof and enjoy arguably the most spectacular views of the city, visible between the cathedral's Gothic spires. Constructed between 1386 and 1965, this massive church is known for its white marble, hundreds of spires, thousands of statues on its exterior, and a buttressed facade. You can take photos inside the cathedral if you buy a special wristband at the entrance. You can reach the roof, which is open during daylight hours, via elevator or 250 stairs. Make advance reservations if you'd like a guided sunset tour of the spires. Duomo di Milano reviews
I had been told that this cathedral had two amazing cuppola’s, but this turned out to be fake news. Although the duomo is a nice building, this visit was very disappointing for me. So for those... more »
We paid 5 euro per person to visit the inside of the cathedral. There are other tickets options which cost more and give access to other parts like archaeological museum but then they cost 20 euro... more »
Amazing architecture! Would have loved to see the interior as well. Unfortunately big queues put us off. We don't like crowded spaces especially with young children. We did walk around it and it was quite spectacular. By all means if you have time and patience go for it!
A truly amazing monument that is worth admiring for the magnificent artwork and sculptures. An absolute delight watching this beautiful building at all times. There are plenty of musical and other events always there including the promotional ones. It is very easy to reach by metro as there is a metro station just at Duomo. There are many reputed restaurants around that offer authentic Italian cuisine, wine and desserts. There are plenty of shops for branded Italian clothes, jewellery and other items. The artwork is simply amazing everywhere along this place.
