  Don't let the small entrance and 3€ fee throw you off. This exhibition has lots to show you with many rooms showcasing a variety of tools and craftsmanship of old Matera. Speaking Italian is a bonus because the owner is a really nice man who has plenty of stories to share about Matera.

  Wow. What can I say. The 3€ ticket was well worth it. At first I thought I wasted money, and there were little descriptions in English. But the interior was never ending. A hugeeeee sassi itself, the multiple rooms were well categorised with large collection of items. Although the owners couldn't speak English, ask them about an item and they will gladly try their best to explain with actions what it was used for in the past. Which of course, was the best way to explain things.
