Trip Planner: Europe / Italy / Puglia / Province of Bari / Alberobello / I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site
One of Italy's best-preserved medieval settlements, I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site is a World Heritage site. Nestled in the Puglia countryside, the town is known for its rows of white, cone-shaped stone houses known as trulli. These now host craft shops, restaurants, and accommodations. Wander the narrow, cobblestone streets, and peer into the small dry-stone huts to admire the vernacular architecture. Walk up to the main church on the hillside for a view of the fairytale-like village. The town is well-known for its pastries and sweets, so consider a stop at a bakery. What a beautiful place! We did a seaways tour to try see as much as possible as we only had a few hours passing through, it is definitely worth a visit more »
As you drive through the countryside from Ostuni you rapidly pick up on the triulli dotting the countryside singly or in clusters and in various states of repair. They coalesce in Alberobello to form.... more »
Such a cute town. Unique, historical and romantic. We spent a day in Alberobello and it's a real pearl. Don't forget to visit this incredible place. If you are a young couple you will love this place in the evening...full is small nice corners and lights!
One of my favorite spots in Italy! The true Italian spirit. It is literally a village with midget houses with round roofs. It is protected by UNESCO and is definitely a hot spot for the tourists in the area. The Trulli area is wonderful and it had anything from artisan shops to small restaurants and even small museums. Some of the trulli are for rent and one could spend the night in there. Recommended.
