Conor Pass, Dingle Peninsula

4.8
#1 of 9 in Nature in Dingle Peninsula
Get your head in the clouds at Conor Pass, the highest mountain pass in Ireland. Your journey follows a winding, twisting asphalt road that sometimes only allows enough room for one car to pass at a time. Along the way you'll see waterfalls, lakes, and cliffs; the high altitude allows for magnificent views of the coast. Avoid this trip in bad weather because of the road conditions. • Even with heavy fog and strong winds, this place is a must if you're ever visiting the Dingle Peninsula. Bring a warm coat and prepare for some impressive views on both sides of the pass. There's a small part of the road that is very narrow near the top where drivers need to be super careful.
  • Beautiful overlooks into the mountain scape. Driver beware very narrow roads looking over cliff drops, quite terrifying for anyone afraid of heights. At the pull off point with a small waterfall you can climb up the rocks to a beautiful mountain lake.
