Melasti Beach, Ungasan

4.6
#2 of 7 in Outdoors in Ungasan
A new development to the area in 2015, Melasti Beach boasts all the characteristic beauty of this coastline, but with fewer crowds. Make your way down the winding road on foot, by car, or by bike. The clear waters and white, sandy shores rival those of nearby beaches, though they have yet to be discovered by the masses. Catch some sun, cool off with a dip, and then take advantage of the viewpoint from the hill behind the beach. From up top here, you'll be treated to a picturesque coast that seems to stretch on endlessly. For Melasti Beach and beyond, use our Ungasan trip planner to get the most from your Ungasan vacation.

  • The Melasti Beach is one of many beaches you can find in Bali. Beautiful, cool, clean water and kids and family members can enjoy the whole day, sun bathing and other activities.  more »
  • Beautiful coastal area halfway from Nusa Dua and Uluwatu. It is accessed by a large and steep road recently built, after a ridiculous toll. At the bottom, the impact is not the maximum, some abandoned premises, poor vegetation. Turn right, crossing a picturesque Balinese-style entrance (see photo). Continue to the bottom, where there is a large parking area, even for mopeds. It's the most beautiful part of the sea, with some warungs and umbrellas and deckchairs for hire at honest prices, about 12 euros for two. The left side is rocky and unusable, with some cheap warungs. The big waves are far away, and the beach is quite protected from the rocks. It's not a beach for those who love long swims, but at low tide it definitely gets beautiful. They create real natural pools, with firm and crystal clear water. Walking to the right, a recommended warung is The Beach Club, next to Goa Mesari. Great kitchen, cheap, with ottomans and umbrellas. And if you want to spend a memorable day, later on there's a top-notch beach club, the Sundays Beach Club (see review), whose access however is from The Ungasan resort, at the top of the cliff. It deserves to be seen this beach, you have the chance to see one of the most beautiful stretches of sea in all of Bali. The morning is very quiet, it comes alive in the afternoon, with many locals and, at least in August, several newlyweds doing the photo shoot. The only lack, the sunset, as the sun disappears behind the coast at about five o'clock. Attach photos. To see.
