Wander around DakshinaChitra Museum, a campus-like museum where the history of south India comes to life. You can enter the buildings, all of which are original and were removed from their previous locations to be re-erected at the open-air museum, whose name translates as “Picture of the South.” Watch demonstrations of the craftsmen’s work and art; you can even buy some of the works as souvenirs afterwards. The experience will definitely better one's expectation. One of a kind. It houses buildings relative to different cultures from South India. Good place to spend a day out. Can take kids along. If you take kids, don't miss the puppet show - a definite take. Might need around 6 hours or more to go around leisurely. Environment is clean and good. Pottery, block printing activities worth mentioning. Can indulge in some shopping too. Comfortable parking, weekend may be crowded. Take a ride... Will love it!!
Great place to know few cultural homes and arts , When you get in you feel good right from parking as 80% of the parking is under tree shade , and has a good washroom for drivers , The reception is well , tickets are bit expensive 130 per head in weekend and very less in week days , till 5 years no ticket for children , Good traditional exhibition place , there is place where you can get good wood artistic works, few shops are present inside things are expensive but quality may be good , You can find all ancient homes where the homes are made with traditional methods ..I feel Islamic cultures are repeated at few places and Hindu idols are also repeated at few places but it's a great mixture of both .. Suitable seasons :Oct to march even you get good shades of trees but you can enjoy when you go in these seasons or if you happen to visit in summer go by 3 pm .. Good place to hang out
