While it offers excellent views of the city, Szechenyi Lanchid serves as a historic landmark itself: It's the first bridge to span the Danube River in Hungary. Built by English engineer William Tierney in 1849, this structure connects the east and west side of Hungary's capital city. Visit Széchenyi Square on the Pest side of the bridge, or head up to the Castle Hill on the Buda side.
