Altstadt, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, is one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance towns in Europe and spans 80 hectares (198 acres). Stroll through the cobbled streets to admire the 1,200 half-timbered buildings from the 14th to 20th century. Visit the Church of St. Servatius, considered to be a Romanesque architectural masterpiece, where you can see the graves of the first German King, King Henry I, and his wife, Mathilde. The view of the town from the church is superb, so bring your camera along. Plan to visit Altstadt during your Quedlinburg vacation using our convenient Quedlinburg online journey planner.
