Even with the corona virus, ther was plenty of space to wander around the place. And at €9 per adult even appealed to my moth-eaten wallet! more »

Really nice place with great historical things! 10minutes travel from Hoxter train station! Summer time is the best time to visit, besides the Schloss, there is also a river, best place for parties or grilling! Really worth, just plan your based on the weather.

1. No foreign credit card accepted. (I wasted some time to ask around other visiters to get 3 extra euro coins to get a ticket at about 16:45. I would regreted afterward for the kindness and generosity from a german cyclist in exchange with such a negative experience in my german trip.) 2. They don't care about your luggage. 3. Unclear direction signs. I wasted more time in the main museum building. 4. At 17:30 the guardian started to chase me. He wanted to start closing the doors. I repeated I understood I had to leave at 18h. He kept annoying me, shouted at me, physically draged me (my hand) to the next room. A point to mention, I only speak basic german. But I am sure the problem is absolutely not about communication but terrible LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND DEVOTION. The gardien got mad and emotional, and decided to run before me to close all the doors in front of me ( - such an efficient and filthy strategy !), since I insisted my right to visit the museum until 18h. I couldn't visit many rooms and bibliotheque in the supposedly last 15 min. I left. He even complained loudly to another collegue. 5. All the emplyees left before 18h. So, why there is a board indicating the incorrect closing time to the visiters? 6. Visiting area very limited in the HUGE building indoor and totally forbidden in the HUGE garden outdoor. What's more nonsense is that you CAN visit it outside their working time. Simply nobody cares. So what is the good reason to forbid it during working time, even for the paying visiters? 7. No explanations and indications in the language other than Deutsch. Unbelievable considering the recognition of UNESCO. A good moral and preaching conclusion: You should not close the door in front of your guest from far far away coming to learn the historical and cultural heritage of your land(, especailly not before the time you are supposed to work). Very bad for the reputation of your country, your boss and yourself. A good lesson to break so-called german stereotypes like "pünktlich" or "crazy about work". Indeed, all the stereotype is stupid. :)
