Originally designed as a dam to help hold back Lake Alster, Jungfernstieg is now one of the city's primary shopping streets. Take a lakeside stroll here in the heart of Hamberg to window-shop in top-name stores. Jewelry is the specialty. You can see church spires from the pier. Stop in for an ice cream at one of the many stands, or kick back at one of the surrounding waterfront cafes. In centuries past, this promenade was the place for the town's elite to show off their unmarried daughters. Planning Hamburg trip won't be overwhelming when you use Inspirock's itinerary maker.
