Take a peek into Marie Antoinette’s favorite places to get away from the pomp of Versailles at The Trianons & The Hamlet. Walk across the gardens or ride the petit train to reach the Grand Trianon decked out in pink marble. The Petit Trianon and the surrounding park reflect the queen's eclectic, free-thinking nature through their rural, rustic surroundings. Inside The Petit Trianon, see her modest bedchamber and simple furnishings. At Le Hameau (Hamlet), survey the ill-fated queen's retreat overlooking Grand Trianon Lake, where the environment stands in stark contrast to the formal gardens at Versailles. The Trianons & The Hamlet Reviews
Après avoir visité le château, nous nous sommes dirigés vers le domaine du Trianon et le hameau de la reine. Pour s'y rendre, il faut marcher un certain temps (des petites voiturettes sont en location... more »After visiting the castle, we headed to the Trianon estate and the queen's hamlet. To get there, you have to walk for a while (small carts are rented if needed) but it's worth it. First of all, the conditions of visit are more pleasant in these places: there are fewer tourists than in the castle and few groups go to the bottom of the park. The great Trianon is more sober than the castle, but remains very beautiful, just like the little Trianon, moving. The Queen's Hamlet, more curious is also to discover: inspired by the rural norman houses of the eighteenth century, the atmosphere is quite different than on the rest of the site. A soothing and very well-maintained place.
Avec les jardins, les demeures et différents pavillons sont à découvrir. L'accès nécessite cependant de prendre un billet à 12€ qui permet de visiter également les quelques pièces du petit Trianon more »With the gardens, the mansions and various pavilions are to be discovered. However, access requires a ticket at 12 degrees, which also allows you to visit the few pieces of the little Trianon
